AGREEMENT

'KOSOVO +25' – Satellite Installation with Midlothian Council

Date: 21/11/23 

  1.      Heartstone will provide Midlothian with a satellite installation of the exhibition ‘Kosovo +25’ comprising 28 images + captions + display boards by end January 2024. This will be under the ownership of Midlothianand used in libraries, community centres, schools and other appropriate settings; 
  1.      Heartstone will work with Midlothian to set up one launch online event for the installation in a location to be specified by Midlothian. This event will be led by Sitakumari, Director of Heartstone; 
  1.      Midlothian will provide one contact officer to work with Heartstone for this project; 
  1.      Heartstone will train one group of 10-15 young people in Midlothian selected by the authority to act as ‘assistant hosts’ for the 1-2 hour-long launch event and other events as their availability will allow. They will also receive guidance on interviewing people, including veterans, with stories to add into the installation; 
  1.      Heartstone will work with Midlothian to set up and lead two further online events for children/young people/community groups over 2023, dates to be agreed by Midlothian and Heartstone. Start date of project will be January 2024 and completion with Heartstone by June 2024. After that, all further stagings of the installation will be led by Midlothian; 
  1.      Heartstone will assist Midlothian and working with the authority’s Armed Forces and Veterans Champion and the organisation’s own partners for the initiative – Poppyscotland, Officers Association, Legion Scotland, Veterans Scotland - to bring the involvement of veterans within the authority to participate in stagings of the installation; 
  1.      Heartstone will facilitate involvement of UNA St Andrews in the deployment of the installation in events and forums; 
  1.      Heartstone is working with the support of Interfaith Scotland, who will involve their local branch in supporting deployment of the installation; 
  1.      Midlothian will be acknowledged as the co-sponsor of the installation together with Heartstone on the installation title board, in press releases, webposts and other media coverage. Logo + promotional information to be supplied by Midlothian; 
  1. Midlothian will provide matchfunding of £4000 with Heartstone sponsors providing balance £4500 and a further £4500 for Story Circles through Paul Hamlyn Foundation funding. The funding will cover costs of production of the installation, which remains with the authority, staging of the local online events and involvement 5 groups in the authority for Story Circles. All administration, management, office, training and origination of the material costs will be covered by Heartstone.
