Dita Macfarlane
Dita has been with the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce (MELCC) since 2011. Her main interest is to support member companies in growing their business through various Chamber activities and to connect them with potential contacts. She plans and manages the Chamber events programme, ensuring that topical business issues are highlighted. Dita also manages all the marketing and communications activities at the Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber including: co-ordinating and editing Business Connect magazine, weekly e-newsletter writing and content for the website. Prior to MELCC, Dita was the Membership Administration and Event Manager at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. She has over 20 years experience in project and event management, marketing and communications, working on a number of high level projects. This includes launching the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce website and Customer Relationship Management database within budget and on time. She project managed high level events with former Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, as well as external event management for BAE Systems.

Mia Gilchrist
Mia joined the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce in 2015 as an Administrator. Her main responsibilities are to assist with the membership and event administration. Isabella Salis
Isabella is our Talent & Business Development Manager, with a background in project management and recruitment. She holds a degree in Business & Economics and a Masters in Marketing and Sales Management, and she currently manages the internship programme at the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce, which she joined in 2022. Isabella focuses on creating meaningful opportunities for young people, while helping organisations across Scotland grow and find the right people through strategic partnerships and tailored talent solutions.

Before joining MELCC, Matt built a career in entrepreneurial and consultancy roles, including co-founding several purpose-led ventures and leading workplace culture programmes across the UK. In 2025, he completed a 398-mile solo charity walk from Edinburgh to Ben Hope, raising funds and awareness for mental health causes — a reflection of his commitment to giving back and supporting people through challenge and change.
He has a strong interest in community-building, well-being in business, and helping traditional industries adapt to a changing world.
