Today, Scottish Chambers of Commerce signed up to participate in the Scottish Government’s PACE Partnership, aimed at overseeing a continuous improvement in the operation of the Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) scheme. Commenting afterwards, Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:

“With Scotland’s economy in the midst of the deepest downturn in decades, it is vital that we look to the future and plan effectively to ensure that our businesses are equipped to take full advantage of the new opportunities of the future.

“The Scottish Government’s PACE scheme plays a key role in mobilising advice and support for businesses and staff affected by the changing economic circumstances. As the Government look to improve this service, it is important that PACE recognises the need to focus not just on the now, but also on the need to train and up-skill for the opportunities of tomorrow.

“Scottish Chambers of Commerce are delighted to participate in the new PACE Partnership and we look forward to a constructive process with clear, defined outcomes centred upon delivering improved economic growth for Scotland.”
